About project
The Rangers Training Centre at Toll Plaza, Karachi is a major institutional and administrative infrastructure project executed by Associate Engineering Services (AES) under a contract awarded by Taha Builder. Spanning the execution period from 2009 to 2011, this comprehensive development delivered a wide range of specialized educational, residential, recreational, and operational facilities designed to support the training and administrative needs of security personnel.
The overall project encompassed several major buildings and specialized amenities, covering extensive built-up areas executed from initial site excavation up to final handover on a labor-rate basis.
The primary components of the project scope include:
- Rangers School Building: Construction of a Ground + 1 floor educational facility encompassing approximately 80,000 SFT of covered area.
- Special Children School: Construction of a specialized single-story institutional facility spanning approximately 30,000 SFT.
- MOQS Buildings (02 Nos.): Construction of two multi-story residential and administrative blocks built to a Ground + 2 floor configuration with a combined covered area of approximately 32,000 SFT.
- Sports Complex & Swimming Pool: Construction of a Ground + 1 floor sports complex spanning approximately 10,000 SFT, alongside a fully engineered indoor/outdoor swimming pool facility.
The technical execution managed by AES covered the entire lifecycle of civil construction works, including:
- Sub-structure & Foundations: Site excavation up to 5 feet depth, foundation work, short columns, plinth beams, superstructure columns, and RCC beam-and-slab assemblies, alongside the construction of Underground Water Tanks (UGWT) and Overhead Water Tanks (OHWT).
- Structural Framing & Masonry: Precision steel reinforcement binding and 5-inch thick block masonry installations.
- Finishing & MEP Works: Comprehensive internal and external plastering, floor tiling, ceramic wall tiling for bathrooms, internal and external painting, and complete electrical wiring and installation as per structural and architectural drawings.
